La La LEGOLand

Connor Rothschild / Senior / Martel

Who is Connor Rothschild? A data scientist extraordinaire; an oratorical wizard; a moderately above-average gamer; an advisor; a friend —
Connor is all of these things, and so much more. From the small town of Springfield, Missouri, he is a rising senior, class of 2021, and is majoring
in Political Science, Social Policy Analysis, and Sociology. At Rice, he works with the Texas Policy Lab, serves as the Executive Vice-President
for the Baker Institute Student Forum, and leads projects with Design For America (Check out connorrothschild.github.io to learn more!). You
might one day spot him in his natural habitat, Coffeehouse, as he finishes up his projects. Although he is often wrestling with complex ideas,
he remains down to earth. In his free time, Connor can also be found playing Super Smash Bros with his suitemates, listening to dreampop
and trap metal, exercising, or watching a movie with friends. If you need someone to back you up, perhaps with some dazzling visualizations
and world-class debating skills, he’s your guy. If you just want someone to lend an ear or give a thoughtful opinion, he’ll be there for you.

Sahana Prabhu/ Senior / Martel

A flower from Flower Mound, TX, Sahana is truly one of the most genuine, kind-hearted, and thoughtful people you will ever meet! Legend has it, she’s
the inspiration for Disney’s next princess movie. Even during challenging times, you can always count on this fashionable chemistry whiz to brighten
your mood with her radiant smile. When she’s not helping to change the world of medicine, you’ll probably find her taking too many snacks from the
student center (don’t worry, she’ll share!), writing you an encouraging note, or binge watching Disney+. As the RPC design co-chair, you’ll definitely
find one of her world-class doodles or designs featured on many a campus advertisement or t-shirt. Whether it’s recording an impromptu vegetarian
podcast or choreographing a series of hand-gestures to the Fairly Odd Parents theme song (yes, this ACTUALLY happened), you can always count
on Sahana to support you throughout your endeavors. She is a great friend and I’m confident that you’ll find her to be an equally amazing advisor!

Kari Cavazos/ Junior / Martel

Get ready to meet the one, the only Kari Cavazos! This trilingual queen (French in progress) is one of the kindest people you’ll find on Rice’s
campus. Kari is a junior Political Science and Spanish and Portuguese Studies double major from the Valley. Kari is involved in HACER (Rice
University’s Hispanic Association), Martel Mentors and Martel’s Diversity Council. If you think that’s great, just wait because there’s more
in store. In her free time, you can find her practicing TikTok dances with her suitemates, listening to Bad Bunny, or enjoying The Bachelor
on Monday nights. If you ask her, she might even show you her complex Bachelor contestant spreadsheet. Kari is also a vegan, meaning
she has stronger will power than most of the population. As a plant-based aficionado, Kari would love to venture out for acai with you, or
grab fruit smoothies at Coffeehouse. With Kari as your advisor, you have plenty of fun times, laughs, and Tik Tok references in your future.

Elysia Wu / Sophomore / Lovett

According to Wikipedia, Elysia is an “American deathcore band from Shingles Springs, California.” Unfortunately, Elysia (uh-lee-see-ya, for
reference) Wu is not this. But, she does hail from Katy, Texas (yeehaw!) and is a sophomore from Lovett College. When she’s not rooting for Team
Edward in Twilight or playing Tiny Tower, she’s probably cutting out letters for quotes on her wall (so English major of her right?), BUT PLOT
TWIST, she’s also a NEUROSCIENCE MAJOR AND PRE-MED (so multi-talented). And of course, she can always update you on the latest drama
on Love Island in any country or Keeping Up With the Kardashians (and how Kourtney Kardashian lacks parenting skills! sorry not sorry). Just
ask her at any hour of the day because she will probably be awake from a Takis and Red Bull/caffeine induced study session. Also, Elysia loves
singing and has THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL (hit her up if you ever need song recs!). On a more serious note, Elysia is always ready to listen and
help you with any problem even if she has a 39491385 page paper due the next day that she hasn’t started on. She is a selfless, good human being,
who is very wholesome (even though she sometimes laughs at memes on instagram of children falling down). Anyway, get ready to meet this
ENERGETIC, OPTIMISTIC, SWEET, BEAUTIFUL, AND ALL AROUND GOOD SAMARITAN ELYSIA AS YOUR ADVISORRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

David Ai/ Sophomore / Martel

Meet David, a Martel sophomore majoring in Neuroscience and on the pre-med track! Although people think he’s from California, he’s
actually from Charlotte, North Carolina. David’s biggest pet peeve is slow walkers, and he hates staying up past his bedtime (12am). You
might find him working out at the Rec or in his room rewatching Friends, Parks and Rec, Star Wars, or The Office. If David’s not eating
out on the weekends, he’s probably cooking in Martel’s kitchen. From baking egg tarts to cooking army base stew, David loves cooking
with his friends. David is also obsessed with matcha and spicy food. He’s still looking for a restaurant in Houston that serves spicy food
beyond his tolerance (yes, he’s had the ghost pepper noodle soup at Tiger Noodle House). If you think David’s crazy, you might be right:
he doesn’t like cheese, and he never sleeps past 9:30am. David loves traveling and learning languages, and he’s taken Spanish, Cantonese,
and Mandarin at Rice. David is a wonderful friend and is always willing to listen to you rant. He’s so excited to meet you in the fall!
