Hello Martelians! Welcome to Martel, we’re the first floor RAs –
Hi I’m Faten and I am so excited to welcome you to the best college ever! I am the first floor RA and I work for Rice’s Facilities Engineering & Planning department as a hustling and bustling project manager. I oversea projects all around campus and have a good sense of what it takes to keep this beautiful campus running smoothly. I grew up in Sacramento, California and majored in Environmental Science at Sacramento State University. I have had the opportunity to work in New York City as well as California on all sorts of environmental and constructions projects. I have been an RA at Martel since Spring of 2020 and have met some extraordinary Martelians along the way and enjoyed listening to their interests as well as helping them through their struggles. I live in 121 with my husband, the tuxedo feline Dobby, and my energetic twin girls.
Hi I’m Saad and I am the other first floor RA together with my wonderful wife Faten. Welcome to Martel a place with great students, activities, and exciting traditions. I do not work for Rice University but work as a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their deals practice. I have a bachelors and masters in Petroleum Engineering and have got to work around the world on offshore installations. I am a native Houstonian and love everything about this city and more importantly Martel. I have lived half my life in Houston and the other half in Lahore, Pakistan. I am big fan of all Houston sports teams (yes that makes for plenty of frustrating times). I love to hold poker games for students and play basketball at the rec center when I am not too busy.
Hi I’m Reema and I am one years old and was born in Martel with my sister Zaina. We love growing up in Martel and playing in the best quad on campus. My favorite food is pasta and I love to dance to all music, especially Baby Shark.
Hi I’m Zaina and I’m one minute older than my twin sister Reema (HA!). You can often find me on the swings next to Martels amazing oak tree. My favorite food is all food and I love to chase after our cat. He doesn’t loved to be chased after, but I do it anyways.
Hi I’m Dobby and I am Martel’s resident cat. I was born with all my siblings behind the Baker Magister House but was soon adopted by Faten and Saad. I love to walk around the first floor eating grass, looking for bugs, but most importantly bonding with Martelians as they head into the laundry room.
