Louis Alvares / Senior / Martel

If there is one person who can turn any conversation into comedic gold, it is Louis Alvares! No matter what, a bit of time with Louis will
automatically become the highlight of your day. Although raised in Palm Harbor, Florida, Louis was born in Brazil and spent a semester
abroad in Italy equipping him fluently with Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. Not only has he seen the world through his many travels,
but one of his hobbies is knowing everything about geography. His athletic talents make him champion of Martel intramural sports as he
leads on and off the field. He is a stellar soccer goalie, a perfect 3-point shooter, and an incredible Owls fan. No wonder Louis is a sports
management major! Louis is also a psychology double major, which explains why he is compassionate, empathetic, and able to really
understand those around him. Everyone finds Louis to be a remarkable friend and knows that he’ll continue to make a positive influence
on their lives. Anyone lucky enough to have Louis as their advisor is sure to have an incredible O-Week and a meaningful friendship for life.

Kayt Ribordy / Junior / Martel

So, Kayt Ribordy is going to be your advisor. Tsk, tsk, you really just had to have this junior Mechanical Engineering queen
from Chicago be your advisor. Talk about being selfish, but let’s also talk about the phenomenal LegO-Week/Rice experience
that awaits you with Kayt by your side! Some say she’s the “Bee’s Knees”, I say she’ll always be a Katnny =^.^=. You’ll never
get lost on campus with Kayt showing you the way, but you may lose track of her. If she’s not studying in Fondren Library or
Coffeehouse with her favorite drink (a Nutty Bee, with Oat Milk but hold the “thank you bee”), you can find her welding in
the OEDK, playing squash at the rec, or beatboxing for the Low Keys a cappella group. And after a long day of skating across
campus, Kayt returns to Martel to make it truly the best college ever. As the Prime Minister, she makes sure there’s never a shortage of committee events and activities right at home. Despite all the daily adventures, Kayt is no stranger to some late-night snack runs, conversations, or episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. Before you know it, she’ll have you shouting at the top of your lungs “Martel Brings You Memories” (in English, French, Spanish, German, or Cantonese; she knows ~almost~ all of them)! So I reiterate: you really had to take one of the most kind, caring, vibrant, talented, and humble people I know to be your advisor? Smh.

Omar Moussa Pasha / Junior / Martel

Legends tell of a mystical hero who protects Martel. The winds whisper of his incredible knowledge, power, and profound love for
memes. He is Omar Moussa Pasha. Omar was born in Syria, grew up in Saudi Arabia, and has now lived in Houston for four years. He
transferred to Rice last year and is really involved in the transfer student community. He’s even the president of the Transfer Student
Association. Omar is studying Biochemistry and Neuroscience, and he is Pre-Med at the same time. With all that, he is impossibly
super down-to-earth, easy-going, and is really passionate about spending all his tetra on peach ice teas from Coffeehouse. Omar is
also a lover of rock music, iconic YouTube videos, and sensational sunsets. He is an incredible guy who is always willing to help out
and is a top-notch study partner. Any new Martelian is lucky to have him as their advisor. He also is a connoisseur of Arabic food
(ask him about his recommendations). His expertise also expands to several video games, including League of Legends, so you can
catch him anytime on the rift. Omar is an amazing advisor and an even more awesome friend. So newsflash, the legends are true!

Jennifer Adams / Sophomore / McMurtry

Say hello to Jennifer (or Jen, but NOT Jenny) Adams! Jen took a break from fighting fires in her hometown of Montgomery, New
Jersey (aka the “town near Princeton”) to attend Rice and become a Woman in STEMTM️. This curly-haired cutie is a sophomore
from McMurtry majoring in computer science. When she isn’t working at Rice Bikes, you can catch her at the Rec, on a run, in the
midst of a study grind, or catching a late night Uber with her friends to House of Pies (fondly referred to as HOP). Jen also still finds
time to be the external president of CSters (Rice women in CS!), an Associate’s Committee head, and a member of the undefeated
McMurtry women’s intramural soccer team (yes, this superstar does it all). Even though she mispronounces the word “water” (maybe
it’s a Jersey thing?), Jen is truly a joy to be around and just the girl you want to have as an advisor. She’s a wonderful, loving, and
caring friend who is always there to encourage you and validate your feelings, and she can’t wait to meet all of the new Martelians!
